What are Subglandular Breast Implants?
Watch this video by Samuel Shatkin Jr., MD, a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in Buffalo, NY as he explains subglandular breast implants and how the implant procedure is performed.
The sub-glandular implant is that implant is placed superficial to the pectoralis muscle. The sub-glandular implants that I place are all done in a subfascial plane that’s just below the fine layer of fascia that just sits on top of the muscle. I’ve been performing that technique since the early 2000s, and now it’s adopted by most plastic surgeons that want to do a pre pectoral sub-glandular implant.
