Chin and Cheek Enhancement in Buffalo, NY
With many new options of facial filler products, the majority of facial volume enhancement is done with the use of injectable fillers. These non-surgical methods to help with facial contours and replace missing volume are ideal treatments for aging face and imbalances.
What you need to know about fillers
Dermal Fillers and Injections
When Dr. Shatkin started in practice in 1989, most patients knew little about facial injections and even plastic surgeons had minimal use of products to add volume or augment the facial features. Original injectable materials were in the form of collagen injections. Most of these injections required skin testing and 2-4 weeks to see the effect prior to injecting larger volumes.
New products have evolved and currently, we perform a multitude of different fillers to accommodate the needs of the patient. At the Aesthetic Associates Centre, we utilize only FDA approved injectables.
Considerations
Facial Dermal Fillers provided by the team at the Aesthetic Associates Centre include Juvederm tm, Restylane, Sculptra and Fat injection. Dr. Shatkin and his staff teach courses to health professionals through the Aesthetic Learning Academy on the proper use and safety of these products. Fillers can be used to enhance facial features as well as fill volume and valleys to rejuvenate the face as well as other areas including the hands.
Variety of Products
The team at the Aesthetic Associates Centre will hand select and customize a treatment for each and every patient and specific area where fillers are needed. Juvederm and Restylane are the brands most often used and different consistancies of these products are available from the manufacturers to get optimum results. Placement location as well as the product used substantiate that one size does not fit all. Our team has access to nearly all available FDA approved products.
Fat Injections
Just like traditional fillers, fat injections can easily fill the lines around the mouth, above the nose and be used to increase volume to the face that has deflated over time. Typically, Dr. Shatkin uses fat injection when several areas need to be treated. This becomes more cost effective than the use of other fillers. Fat retrieval is a minor surgical procedure and can be done in less than one hour. After the fat is retrieved it is processed to concentrate the fat cells and then reinjected in the area to be corrected. A series of 4-5 injections are spaced out over a 6 month period to maximize the results.
