How Long Should I Wait After Childbirth for a Mommy Makeover?

Watch this video by Samuel Shatkin Jr., MD, a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in Buffalo, NY as he explains the appropriate time to receive a Mommy Makeover after giving birth.

Patients always want to know how long they need to wait after they have childbirth before they can undergo a mommy makeover. Generally, I recommend that they give it about nine months or more. The consultation can be started sooner than that, but will wait until the patients have lost their weight or the skin’s been able to contract back to the pre-mommy, pre-pregnancy condition. If a woman’s breastfeeding though, we may wait a full 9 to 12 months before we consider any breast surgery.
